[ That's good advice in general, so Xion gives a smile and nods. Naminé's own question is a little harder, however. She tilts her head, looking down at the blank sketchbook in her hands. ]
Oh, I'm not sure. [ Naminé's drawing's that she'd seen had mostly been people, but that sounded... hard. ]
Maybe something like... scenery? Oh, a landscape they're called, right?
[ This time, instead of going directly to her bedroom, Arden sends her a message over the amulet first, to make sure she's ready for him. He has a bag of overnight gear, but it's pretty light. Just enough to get him dressed to go to work in the morning. When he does walk through the corridor, he's actually already dressed for bed - in a pair of sleeping shorts and a tank top.
Even though he did ask first, he's still smiling with a bit of red in his cheeks when he sees her. ]
[Naminé's already sitting in bed and dressed in a nightgown. She gives him a shy wave when he enters the room.]
It has, hasn't it? I'm just glad it's under better circumstances. [Good circumstances actually. She couldn't ask for anything better right now.] Do you need anything, Arden?
[ He gently sets the bag down - it's in a corner out of the way, it'll be fine - and crosses the distance towards her. Standing in front of where she's sitting, he gently shakes his head. ]
Not anymore.
[ Time with her was the gift he never expected in a million years. The even tone in his voice belies how deep his feelings are. He's through with loud declarations - this is all he wants.
As he reaches forward to cup her cheek, there's a soft caress that precedes it, like the tide slowly rolling up a beach, with a faint sound to accompany it. He's a little stunned, not really making the connection to dunamis right away, but only because of how long he's spent not using it.
So his fingers flinch, but he does eventually get to touch her cheek. ]
Guess I'm feeling a little... I'm not sure. [ Even though he is smiling. ]
[Naminé leans into that hand and then puts her hands over his. It's warm; she didn't even realize how much how much she had missed this. Even if he had only been gone for a short time, she didn't think she'd even experience this again.]
Not sure? That's okay though.
[She closes her eyes to listen to the sound.]
Did you know what my name means? It means "sound of the ocean wave."
No I didn't... That's... amazing how dunamis works sometimes.
[ He slowly sits down next to her. ]
Not lightning or sparks or anything just... [ He puts his free hand over his own heart, feeling how it's racing. ] Echoes of a beach, on the edge of deep water.
[ Nervous. Excited. That's the feeling. He decides to lean over instead then, to very gently peck her on the cheek. He's so nervous the first time it's a very quick kiss. But there's no dunamis effects either. ]
Ah... Man, I gotta calm down.
[ He pulls his hands back into his lap, looking down at them with a deep blush spreading quickly - embarrassed by how many feelings she creates in him every time, and yet this time it's so much more. ]
[ He's grateful for her leaning back first, because then it's easy to just slowly fall along with her. He gets a brief, smile-in-the-corner-of-his-mouth as he props himself up with his free hand, before finally settling down on his side. He flexes the hand she's holding, then resumes their finger-threaded position, pulling it up to rest in the center of her stomach...
His free hand he uses to touch her cheek with the back of his hand. It's been several long seconds since she said that, but he only just now takes a deep breath before answering. ]
It's not being unsure... at least, not about you.
[ Slowly, he works that free hand around her neck, upper back, and rests it on her opposite shoulder, still laying on his side so he can look at her properly while he speaks. ]
I just... hope I don't ruin this with more dunamis outbursts, that's all. I used to be better at controlling it, with my meditation, but tonight...
[ He flattens his mouth with a very brief shake of his head on the pillow. ]
[Sora, unfortunately, forgot everything he knew about Arden when they were all home. It was a pretty harrowing feeling to come back and realize he had.]
I'm glad he's still the Arden we know and love. He seems like he's grown up a little bit too. There's something a little different about him but I can't put my finger on it...
[He lets out a small laugh. Arden is just maturing, that's all.]
I'm glad you're happy, too. You really deserve it, Naminé.
Who knows, maybe it'll be you two getting married next.
[And he just goes ahead and embarrasses her even more. But the affection behind his teasing is real. If they're talking about growing up and being mature isn't that the next best thing?]
[He's snickering. He might just be teasing her. But Sora actually already wears a ring on his finger for someone special so of course, he thinks it's normal.]
I'm just teasing you. You're right, there's no rush at all!
[A group of birds deliver a rectangular box, tied with a pink ribbon. On top of the box is an envelope with Naminé's name, and the card inside reads:]
Dear Naminé,
Thank you so much for the cookies! I'm so lucky to have a friend like you. Here is something I hope you'll like too!
Your friend, Fluttershy
[Inside the package is a scarf. And while it may look surprisingly familiar to Naminé, should she remember a certain shopping day earlier that month, the scarf is hand-knit with a small rabbit in the corner of one end of it.]
[It's very rare for her to get a package like this! But she's very excited when she gets it and immediately puts on the scarf inside. It's so cute she sends Fluttershy a message.]
I just got your gift; thank you! That was so sweet of you to think of me!
[She sends a flash of an image of her wearing it!]
